STATUS:  Rare

DOCUMENTED COUNTIES:  Tarrant

HABITAT:  in our area, urban gardens and flower beds; plant nurseries

COMMENTS:  this species has only been recently documented from the metroplex and was probably introduced here from its natural range in extreme south Texas via trade in potted plants.  Commonly classified in the genus Syrrophus along with its close relatives the Cliff and Spotted Chirping Frogs.
