MEDITERRANEAN GECKO Hemidactylus turcicus (Linnaeus, 1758) STATUS: Common DOCUMENTED COUNTIES: Dallas, Denton, and Tarrant HABITAT: residential areas of all habitats COMMENTS: This species was introduced many years ago from the Mediterranean region, and has colonized most cities in Texas. Farther collecting would undoubtedly show that this gecko is found throughout the Metroplex. |
