SOUTHERN WATER SNAKE Nerodia fasciata (Linnaeus, 1766) STATUS: Rare DOCUMENTED COUNTIES: Collin, Dallas, Denton, Kaufman, and Tarrant HABITAT: Trinity River Bottoms SUBSPECIES: Broad-banded Watersnake N. f. confluens (Blanchard, 1923) COMMENTS: The broad-banded watersnake (N. f. confluens) should be more common in the extreme eastern part of the metroplex. |
