BULLSNAKE Pituophis catenifer (Blainville, 1835) STATUS: Common DOCUMENTED COUNTIES: Collin, Dallas, Denton, Ellis, Hood, Johnson, Parker, Somervell, Tarrant, and Wise HABITAT: Western Cross Timbers, Eastern Cross Timbers, Fort Worth Prairie, Mesquite Grand Prairie, Cedar-limestone Hills, Blackland Prairie, and Rolling Plains SUBSPECIES: Bullsnake P. c. sayi (Schlegel, 1837) COMMENTS: Bullsnakes are more common in the western half of the Metroplex. |
