SMALL-MOUTHED SALAMANDER Ambystoma texanum (Matthes, 1855) STATUS: Common DOCUMENTED COUNTIES: Collin, Dallas, Denton, Ellis, Hood, Johnson, Kaufman, Parker, Somervell, Tarrant, and Wise HABITAT: Fort Worth Prairie, Mesquite Grand Prairie, Blackland Prairie, Trinity River Bottoms, Brazos River Bottoms, Post Oak Belt, and Western Cross Timbers COMMENTS: Most of the preceeding observations form Dallas and Tarrant Counties were before development of those areas. |
