General Information: One of the most widely recognized snakes in the North American pet trade, the cornsnake (or red ratsnake) is a beautiful ratsnake with a wide distribution in North America (second only to the Ratsnake, E.obsoleta). Two subspecies are recognized for this species, and it occurs in a wide variety of colors and patterns, both wild varieties and captive bred cultivars.
