Mexican Kingsnakes
Lampropeltis mexicana

Often mistaken for the Gray-banded kingsnake, their neighbors to the north, Mexicana kingsnakes are a generally non-aggressive species that do well in captivity, though some hatchlings may prove finicky.

These colorful kingsnakes are somewhat secretive and require a hiding box at all times. They become favorites in most collections, because of their beauty and ease of care.
