hello all.
i am very excited to share the process of making a pretty unique terrarium. i have been taking photos of the building stages and they will be posted shortly. i hope you enjoy watching my ideas come to life with me
this cage is for a Dumeril's Ground Boa i bought as a small baby five years ago named Fleep. (My son named it, lol)
Check it, people!
Building a terrarium for a Dumeril's Ground Boa has been a very interesting, fun and creative process. i've had this snake for five years, and i absolutely love it. i've had my first snake 20 years ago, but let go and just got back into it in 2007. i've always loved snakes and reptiles and i know a lot about them. not an expert, never even tried to breed them, but surely not a beginner either.... i'm not in it to compete, i just love the creatures.
i have done quite a bit of research about Dumerils, but i think my first hand experience of 5 years with the snake is key to really understanding it and what it needs. i took all my experience into account when started to design this project. of course it helps that i am a professional contractor, and i have over 12 years of experience in fine carpentry, tiling, stonework and masonry...lol and all those skills are also incorporated needless to say.
hopefully by looking at what i'm doing here, you will learn to appreciate the beautiful Dumeril's Boa and understand it's housing needs better, and get some cool ideas for your own do-it-yourself project for your reptile, and maybe learn a thing or two about carpentry, masonry, and other skills you can use when making your own terrarium.
i'll also be happy to answer any questions of course.
ok till later, all the best, Reptiliyo.
